A long-lost silent film makes its return to the state where its matinee idol star was born.

"Bardelys the Magnificent" (1926) featured the most famous romantic lead of its day: John Gilbert, a native of Logan. The film, recently rediscovered and restored, screens at the Edison Street Organ Loft in Salt Lake City. Playing there Feb. 18 and 19 is another of Gilbert's silent films, "Monte Cristo" (1922).
